Dr. Sasha Godenir
I grew up living the farm life outside of Aneroid, Saskatchewan, a part of childhood I truly cherish. Days were spent riding the “orange crush car” with my sister in the back, building forts and helping out wherever I could with farm work. Somehow outside of dancing, fastball, and combining, I knew I always wanted to be an optometrist. I landed a summer job with Optical Image out of high school, and low and behold it became my life and my dream job after getting my Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. In the mean time I married my guy Rej, who through his hockey career led us to spend an incredible year trecking around Europe together. Our 3 kids now rule our world and make us laugh everyday, amongst many other good times with our fun friends and family.
I have practiced optometry since 2002, including contact lens fittings, red eye and emergency assessments and treatments, ocular disease assessments and management, pediatric and binocular vision examinations. Our office is equipped with advanced technology and education for early detection of common ocular diseases like, macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic eye disease. I have an excellent web of referral specialists that I work with closely in co-managing pre and post surgeries in cataracts, retina, and refractive surgeries. I have gained a broad range of experience and made friends every day from Guanajuato, Mexico, to Montrose, New York, to now Swift Current, SK! Listening carefully, making recommendations, prescribing treatments and assisting in helping each patients’ eyes live up to their potential has cultivated relationships. I love a challenge, I care, and I truely enjoy what I do!
Today I continue to enjoy life with an incredible circle of support from our families and staff. I am involved and supportive of my community as they are of me. I challenge myself to continue to create and maintain an outstanding culture in my business, where patients are greeted with warm smiles, distinguished eyecare, advanced technology, efficient service, and unique eyewear.
